The Maine Disc Jockey Network is an Association of competitive single operator DJ companies that was founded in December 2001 and is co-owned by Jim Casey of djmaine.com, LLC and Mike Mahoney of M&M Entertainment.

They agreed that the Disc Jockey industry in Maine should raise the bar for professional services. They felt that Maine needed to be represented by a strong local association.

For that association to have any credibility, brides and other prospects needed at least a short list of minimum professional standards that Disc Jockey companies should adhere to.

These standards include being fully insured, licensed with the State of Maine as a business, and never working without a contract. Also, MDJN DJs need to be ready to be called at the last minute in case a member is ill or is unable to cover and event for any reason. It is a unique backup system that does not exist with most single-operators.

In 2007, this network was put to the test with the unfortunate disappearance and arrest of a non-network DJ. His problems had a ripple effect with as many as 35 brides having been ripped-off and all of the weddings were in need of last minute DJ Entertainment. MDJN stepped up to the challenge and essentially did all we could could to assist those in need by discounting our services or finding Entertainment for them outside of the MDJN.

DJs that are part of the Network are given many benefits including awesome search engine placement, sharing of ideas and concepts with one another, and the annual Maine Disc Jockey network mini-convention which took place in March at the Hilton Garden Inn in Freeport.

It has been eight years since three determined DJs met at Windham Town Hall to discuss the possibilities and why we needed to have such a network. With nine strong Full and Part-Time companies and recent events, we now understand what the network is truly all about.
